A Note for Parents, Guardians, and Pupils
What is Tutinama?
Tutinama is a website your tutor uses to set up extra practice for you between your normal tutoring sessions. It gives you an AI Tutor Assistant — called Tuti — that you can practise with on your own, tailored to your exam board, your subject, and what you're working on. Your tutor sets it up, checks in on how it's going each week, and adjusts it based on your progress.
What this account was set up with
When your tutor set up your account, they entered:
- A username for you — we never put your real name anywhere Tuti or the practice sessions can see.
- Your year group and age, and which subjects and exam boards you're studying.
- What you're finding hard, what you're doing well at, your target grade, and your exam dates.
- For anyone under 18: a parent or guardian's name and email. That's why this notification went to a parent or guardian rather than straight to you — it's who we (and your tutor) contact about the account being set up, and it's where things like a password reset originally go.
You (the pupil) can usually go on to use your own email to log in day-to-day, once the account exists — that doesn't change any of the above.
What happens when you practise with Tuti
Tuti only sees your username, year group, subject, exam board, and the topics your tutor has set — never your real name. What you type to Tuti during a session isn't saved as a transcript. When you finish, a short summary of what you covered is generated and saved so your tutor can see how it went — the word-for-word conversation itself isn't kept.
If you tell your tutor something private about how you're feeling (not related to a subject), and they choose to note it down, that note is kept separately, locked, and is never shown to Tuti or used in your practice sessions. It's for your tutor's own reference.
Who can see this information
- Your tutor — they can see your progress, your session summaries, and anything they've noted about you.
- Tutinama — we run the platform on your tutor's behalf. We don't sell your information or use it to advertise to you.
- A small number of specialist companies that help us run the service — for example, the company that provides the AI behind Tuti. They only ever see your username, never your real name.

How long we keep this
We normally keep your practice records, including anything your tutor notes down as a wellbeing concern, for 12 months after your account is closed or you stop using Tutinama, then delete them.
Your rights
Parents, guardians, and pupils can ask to see what information we hold, ask for something to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Because your tutor set the account up and knows the context best, it's often quickest to ask them directly — but you can also contact Tutinama directly at jamie.mata981@gmail.com.
Any questions
If anything here isn't clear, ask your tutor, or contact us directly at jamie.mata981@gmail.com.
